Last devotion I discussed how I conquered running 6 miles based on a prompt decision I made. Allow me to bring your attention to HOW was I able to endure a 6-mile run?

Through the course of this devotional I will take you through steps to be able to accomplish a your own goals just as I did.

Step 1:

To achieve something that we desire to do in life, we must prepare ourselves. Most importantly, God wants us to prepare. Sometimes in certain situations God will take us through some obstacles to prepare us for a greater blessings.

Think about Joshua, Job, Joseph, David, Jacob, Abraham, Paul, & etc. What we must know is that it takes time, and it takes a strong mindset to prepare to conquer something big. Without a strong mindset and preparation, we're more likely to fail. One famous scripture that helps me prepare to conquer and endure comes from 2 Timothy 1:7 which states “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”. When it’s time to prepare, fear will try to creep in with lies, that we are too weak, or that it’s too hard. But power, love, and a sound mind will help us prepare to endure anything and everything we focus to achieve. Ask yourself today, Am I properly preparing myself? Am I taking the proper steps? Do I have a sound mind to accomplish my goals?

Prayer: Father God, I ask you today to remind us daily to not be dismayed and to not allow fear to creep into our minds. Remind us that you will never leave us and forsake us. Remind us that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us and that we must stand firm in all your ways. Remind us to lean on your understanding and not our own. We acknowledge that you have a great work in us that you want us to fulfill, and we are here to do your

WILL! Help us accomplish our goals and desires that you see fit for us. In Christ Jesus name, Amen
