Stay Disciplined, Stay Free
Lately, God’s been teaching me a lot about discipline. Not the kind that feels like punishment, but the kind that builds character — the kind that helps you stay focused on what actually matters. As I read the Word, I’ve noticed how some people in Scripture were proud to take on assignments. They didn’t just complete their tasks — they let those callings shape their identity.
I’ve been sitting with that.
There’s a story in the book of Matthew that’s been stirring something in me — the centurion soldier. A man outside the faith, sent by a system trying to trap Jesus in legalism. And yet Jesus said this man had more faith than all the disciples who had seen Him do miracle after miracle. That kind of faith — bold, uncluttered by pride or proximity — made Jesus stop and marvel. Imagine that.
Most of my battles are internal. Mental warfare. The constant tug-of-war between doing what I know is right and staying where it feels comfortable. It’s almost daily. But I’m learning: comfort is a slow trap. Discipline is freedom.
If you’re reading this and feeling discouraged — pray. Seriously. Don’t overthink it. Don’t wait until you feel worthy. Just talk to God.
And above all: know what Jesus had to say. Don’t rely on someone else’s opinion of Him. Go see for yourself.
